DESCRIPTION

The Devils River is one of the most pristine waterways in Texas and considered a "bucket list" fly fishing trip for many. The short 94-mile river begins its journey in Sutton County just Southwest of Sonora and empties into Lake Amistad. With difficult access as a result from being surrounded by private property, and a Texas Parks and Wildlife regulated permit system, the river has remained largely unspoiled. This is a truly unique adventure and is one that draws clients in from all over the country. The water is often described as "gin clear" which makes it reminiscent of fishing in a tropical location. Due to its remoteness and quality habitat the river is a tremendous fishery and an epic location for any fly angler. The Smallmouth Bass population is a large draw but expect to have opportunities at aggressive Largemouth Bass as well as some willing and able-bodied Carp. Not only is the fishing phenomenal but the nature is too. Many mornings and evenings have been spent watching Whitetail Deer, Auodad, Rio Grande Turkey, Feral Pigs, Fox, Rabbits, Bobcats, and more as well as a huge diversity in bird species.

Your trip begins with the first night spent in close proximity to the river. From there, the next two nights and two and a half days will be spent on the water. Though this is a rugged excursion we make sure to take care of our clients. The fishing is conducted out of 13’ whitewater rafts where you will be paired off with a guide. Spend your day fishing while our guides row you down the river, position you for casting opportunities, and take pictures along the way. Don't worry about packing up in the morning or having to set up camp in the evenings as we will take care of all of that for you. At the end of both fishing days you'll arrive to an already set up camp with refreshments and an excellent dinner being prepared. When we take out of the river, we will have a shuttle arranged to pick you up.

Please be aware that even though we take every opportunity to provide comfort for our guests, this is a rugged outdoor adventure. Depending on water and weather conditions, there may be times that the client is required to walk. With that said, we are very fortunate to have professionally guided this river for over 8 years and have more than a combined 50 trips under our belts. To have the Devils River in such close proximity to us is very special and we are thankful that we have the opportunity to share this adventure with you.
