New water conditions on the Guadalupe River.

With trout season in full swing and more stockings on the way get ready! The fishing this past week has been Hot!!! This weeks temperatures will be between 70’s and 50’s with possible showers, so layer up! Multiple tout stocking have been done in the Guadalupe River from trout unlimited and TPWD.

Guadalupe River: Flows - 64.6CFS. River Temps- Range from 50’s-60’s. Mornings have been a little slow but the bite kicking on around 9am. With all the new fish in the river bright patterns will be effective so hang on tight they’re some fighters! As the fishing pressure continues to increase Nymphing will be the most productive, but don’t let that stop you from chunking some streamers (especially in the slow deep pools). Hot flies: Olive Hares Ear size 16-18. Psycho Prince Purple size 12. Flashback Pheasant Tail size 16-18. Olive/Black Midges size 18-20. Rainbow Warriors size 18-20. RS2 Olive/black size 18-20. Thin Mint bugger size 8. Black/olive Bugger size 8. Any color Egg pattern.

San Marcos River: Flows 86.1 CFS. The Fall Frenzy is on! Big streamers are moving the big boys. Top water bite has be successful during the day. The Smallmouth and Rios have been aggressive lately. Look for structure along the bank and rock gardens. Top Flies: Joon Diver Chartreuse. Barry’s Carp Bitter Brown. Black Slump Buster. Mop Flies.
